Kolkata, Jun 22 (UNI) The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has convened an Emergent Meeting on July 2 at Eden Gardens to apprise the members of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's views regarding CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya's contesting the coming elections.

Dalmiya met state Sports Minister Subhas Chakraborty yesterday and was informed of the views of the Chief Minister that he should not contest the CAB polls scheduled in July end.

Dalmiya today said his contesting the CAB elections would depend on the views expressed by the members during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Mr Chakraborty today indicated that the State Govenrment would back Dalmiya in the litigations with BCCI, even though it wanted him out of power as CAB president.

''I have with me the papers of litigations he has with BCCI. If he is found a victim of injustice, I will request the Chief Minister to intervene,'' he told reporters in the state Assembly lobby.

Mr Chakraborty's significant remark came a day after he conveyed to Mr Dalmiya Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's advice that he(Dalmiya) should not contest the CAB election against city Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee, being supported by the Government.
