Bhopal to be global environment city
Bhopal, June 22 : The Madhya Pradesh government has constituted an expert team to hold consultations regarding the proposal to develop Bhopal as a global environment city.
The consultative experts have been asked to give their advice within six months. Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation(EPCO) will function as a secretariat for the expert team, official sources said today.
Non-official members in the consultative expert team include: Dr O P Mathur, member of the Prime Minister Review Group, Prof Ravindra Bhan, retired Professor of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, former bureaucrat and town planner M N Buch, Prof Ramchandra Guha from IISc, Bangalore and Mr A G K Menon, Director, TVB School of Habitat Study, New Delhi.
Official members of the team include Principal Secretaries of Forest, Tourism and Culture, Housing and Environment, Urban Administration and Development departments, besides Bhopal Commissioner, Town and Country Planning Director , Executive Director of EPCO and Mr Anurag Jain, Secretary to the Chief Minister.
