Kolkata, Jun 22 (UNI) West Bengal Sports Minister Subhash Chakraborty today indicated that the State Govenrment would back Mr Jagmohan Dalmiya in the litigations with BCCI, even though it wanted him out of power as president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

'' I have with me the papers of litigations he has with BCCI. If he is found a victim of injustice, I will request the Chief Minister to intervene, '' he told reporters in the state Assembly lobby.

The Minister, however, clarified that the Government would not get itself into any litigation.

Mr Chakraborty's significant remark came a day after he conveyed to Mr Dalmiya Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's advice that he should not contest the CAB election against city Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee.

Mr Dalmiya is at present embroiled in a number of cases filed against him by BCCI, including one in connection with the accounts of Rs 21 lakh.

To a question as to what made the Chief Minister to intervene in CAB affiars, Mr Chakraborty was evasive, '' He has done this on the basis of his experience, '' he said.

''It is Mr Dalmiya's business to decide if he will contest CAB election, '' the Minister said.

Earlier, in the House, Mr Chakraborty justified the Chief Minister's action, saying it was necessary.

He admitted that the the situation over the CAB election was 'abnormal' and unprecedented in the country.

Yesterday the Transport Minister had rejected allegation of his Cabinet colleague Ashok Bhattacharjee that Mr Dalmiya was responsible for the exclusion of Sourav Ganguly from Indian cricket side.
