Amara Raja Batteries recommends 25 pc dividend

Mumbai, June 22 (UNI) Amara Raja Batteries has recommended a dividend of 25 per cent equivalent to Rs 2.50 per equity share of Rs 10 each, subject to the approval of its shareholders.

Announcing this to BSE, the company said the decision was taken by the board of the directors of the company at their meeting held on June 22, 2006.

Amara Raja Batteries (ARBL), a player in the industrial batteries segment, was set up in technological collaboration with GNB Battery Technologies which has now been taken over by the Johnson Controls Inc, USA, a global market leader in automotive systems and building controls.

It was promoted by Ramchandra N Galia, an NRI now settled in India, and Andhra Pradesh Electronics Development Corporation, for making value regulated lead acid (VLRA) batteries.
