Abhishek Bachchan is Omega brand ambassador

New Delhi, June 22 (UNI) Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan is the new brand ambassador for Swiss watch maker Omega, which has placed junior Bachchan among the ranks of Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, super model Cindy Crawford and racing icon Michael Schumacher.

''I admired Omega since my childwood. I look forward to a fruitful relationship together'', Abhishek told reporters here today after Omega President Stephan Urquhart announced the Indian brand ambassador for his company.

''Abhishek truly reflects Omega's values of performance and style,'' Mr Urquhart said.

Omega is counted among the world's most luxurious brands. The price range of Omega is between Rs 50,000 and Rs 150,000 a piece.

However, the Omega President declined to divulge the value or period for the contract signed with Abhishek.

''To be part of a family (Omega) whose lineage can be traced to the likes of Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, Michael Schumacher, James Bond and Sonali Bandre makes me feel privileged'', the junior Bachchan said.

Abhishek, who had success at the box office from his films like Bunty Aur Bubbly, Sarkar and Dhoom, said the brand he endorses, he uses himself. He was sporting Omega on both his wrists.

Mr Urquhart said Omega has set up four retail stores in India, two in Mumbai and one each in Delhi and Chennai. The company is looking for setting up more outlets in major Indian cities.

Generally, Omega advertises in print and not on television.

However, the company chief said the possibility of a television campaign cannot be ruled out. The print campaign with Abhishek will start from next month.
