UP's Jyoti Yadav shines in county cricket

Lucknow, June 21 (UNI) Helped by a string of good performances from former Uttar Pradesh cricket skipper Jyoti Yadav, the Evenhood Club in Durham county league is very much in sight of regaining the championship.

Jyoti, contracted to play English league third year in succession, helped Evenhood top the league table by consistent good scores for his side.

The 27-year-old lad from Allahabad, who was also selected for the Indian team in Sahara cup few years ago, has produced consecutive healthy scores of 70 (not out), 86 (not out), 42 (not out), according to reports reaching here.

Evenhood, in recent yrs had a number of successful West Indian professionals, but this time it turned to Jyoti Yadav, which proved to be a smart move.

Yadav has produced a number of outstanding performances and in the two games with Willington scored half centuries.

Jyoti was part of the UP team, which won the Ranji trophy championship this season, while being runners-up in shorter version of the game.
