UNI journalist's father passes away

Lucknow, June 21 (UNI) Mr M L Srivastava, father of UNI's senior correspondent at Kanpur Narendra Srivastava, passed away after prologned illness at his Faizabad residence this morning.

He was 86.

A former Railway employee, he is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters.

Mr Srivastava was ill for the past few months and bed-ridden.

His last rites would take place on the banks of river Saryu this evening at Ayodhya.

Chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, his cabinet colleagues and several journalists have condoled his death.
