TN CM gives college seat to tsunami victim

Chennai, Jun 21 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today granted a seat in the Government College of Fine Arts, Kumbkonam, to a tsunami victim from Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

An official release here said that this followed a petition submitted to the government by the student, R Bhaskaran.

Bhaskaran had completed his higher secondary education in Andaman before it was hit by the December 26, 2004 tsunami.

He requested the government to allot a seat in the Fine arts College at Kumbakonam.

The Chief Minister favourably considered his request and announced the allotment of a seat to him this academic year.
