Sensex crosses psychological 10K mark

Mumbai, June 21: Sensex is in upswing and has crossed the ten thousand mark touching a high of 10,027 in the intra-noon trade largely on strong buying sentiments amongst the investors in the midcap and the smallcap sectors.

Currently the Sensex is trading at 9959.10 up by 137.08 points compared to the previous close.

Reliance Industries has been the star of the day till now charting a growth of three per cent to Rs 951.65.

The benchmark index has swung 275 points since the morning trade.

In the BSE sectoral indices the mid-cap index rose 2.68 per cent while the BSE smallcap index surged 3.92 per cent.

All the major scrips on the BSE have gained, except BHEL, down by 1.36 per cent, Grasim down 1.18 per cent, HLL down by 0.23 per cent, ONGC down by 0.81 and Tata Motors was down by 0.17 per cent.
