New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) The Supreme Court today declined to grant interim bail to Vikas Yadav, main accused in Nitish Katara murder case.

Vikas Yadav is the son of former Rajya Sabha member D P Yadav.

Senior Counsel R K Jain, appearing for the petitioner, pleaded before the vacation bench comprising Justices A R Lakshmanan and Altamas Kabir that his father D P Yadav had gone to London to bring to India his daughter, Bharti Yadav who is the main prosecution witness in the case.

Mr Jain also contended that there was nobody else to attend to his mother who is to be operated upon and he may be released for atleast for a week to attend his mother.

The court, however, adjourned the hearing of the application till July 4 when the petition of Neelam Katara, mother of Nitish Katara seeking cancellation of bail to another accused Vishal Yadav is also fixed for hearing.

Bharti Yadav has not appeared in the case despite revocation of her passport and according to the Interpol, she is not traceable in London as her correct address is not known. D P Yadav has proceeded to London on court order to trace his daughter.

Nitish Katara was murdered in Ghaziabad because he was suspected to be having an affair with Bharti Yadav and the relationship was not liked by the family of Bharti.
