Rains in Kolkata

Kolkata, June 21 (UNI) The city today experienced rains in the afternoon.

There are chances of rainfall late in the afternoon even, Met office sources said.

The Met office has said the weather is expected to remain pleasant for the next 48 hours as there is a possibility of the weak monsoon current over Kolkata getting stronger.

They also said the south Bengal is likely to remain cloudy, due to the cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal and this has started reviving the monsoon current over Gangetic Bengal.

''Kolkatans may experience scattered rainfall during next 24 hours,'' said G C Debnath, Director Regional Meteorological Centre, Alipore.
