Police question lady staffers of Apollo, including Raji Chandru
New Delhi, June 21: The police team, probing into the alleged fudging of documents in the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case, today began questioning lady staffers of the Apollo Hospital here, including Raji Chandru -- the high profile close aide of Chairman of the Apollo chain of hospitals Pratap Reddy.
The police team, which reached the hospital at about 1130 hrs, began interrogating hospital staffers soon after their arrival, said an official of the investigation team.
Today's questioning is likely to revolve around Raji, whose role into the whole affair has raised several questions especially the nearly two-hour delay in informing the police about Bibek Moitra's death and Rahul Mahajan's drug overdose.
Yesterday, the police had questioned for more than nine hours three senior doctors of the Apollo Hospital, including its medical director Anupam Sibal. This was the first batch of senior officials of Apollo summoned by the police for interrogation ever since it began questioning the hospital staff in this connection on June 15.
The next in line for questioning, after Raji, is Apollo Chairman Pratap Reddy for his alleged involvement in trying to mislead investigations.
Phone records of Raji, Harish Sharma (late Pramod Mahajan's PA) and Pratap Reddy have revealed that the three talked to each other before the police were informed about the episode.
