Pak army helicopter crashes; 1 dead, 3 missing

Miranshah, Pakistan, June 21 : A Pakistani military helicopter crashed into a dam today, killing at least a person, government officials said.

The Bell-412 helicopter was on its way to Miranshah, the main town in the North Waziristan region on the Afghan border, when it crashed near the town of Bannu.

''We rescued three soldiers and found one body. Three are still missing,'' said district government official Shah Wali Khan.

The cause of the crash was not known. An army investigation team was on the way to the site, a military official said.

Security forces are battling al Qaeda and Taliban militants and their Pakistani allies in North Waziristan.
