Order against Zahira's brother held till june 28

Mumbai, Jun 21: Additional Sessions Court judge Abhay Thipsay, conducting the retrial of the best Bakery case, reserved his order against Nasibulla, brother of Zahira till June 28, as the probation officer failed to submit the letter demanded by the court here today.

Earlier Justice Thipsay had directed the probation officer to submit a letter on the conduct of Nasibulla to decide the quantum of punishment.

The court yesterday admitted the letter submitted by 'Prayas',a social organisation and maintained that a similar letter from a government probation officer was also needed.

Meanwhile, Zahira Sheikh, the eye witness turned accused of perjury, has been shifted to women cell of Nashik Central jail from Byculla civil prison to undergo sentence for more than one year term.

At present, Zahira is undergoing consecutive imprisonment of one year and a fine of Rs 50,000 awarded to her by Supreme Court for filling false affidavit, along with another three months rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 500 ordered by Additional Sessions Court for perjury during her retrail here.
