No agenda for Third Front says Bardhan

Bhubaneswar, Jun 21: CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan today clarified that at present there was no agenda for a Third Front in the country as an alternative to either the Congress or the BJP.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Bardhan said the meeting of two or three political leaders should not be construed as ''emergence of a Third Front in the country.'' He said an alternative to the Congress or the BJP would not come out by merely meeting a few political leaders. '' The meeting of political leaders might be important for electoral prospects, but not for an alternate political system'', said Bardhan.

The CPI General Secretary said a third alternative could be achieved only through a national struggle and movement led by the Left and other democratic forces.
