NAFED to float global tenders for importing pulses
New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) The National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) would float a global tender to import various pulses including arhar, urad, moong and chana at zero per cent import duty.
The tender is likely to be finalised by the month end.
The move comes after the Ministry of Commerce had directed the organisation to import the pulses from current crop to bridge the gap between production and domestic consumption.
NAFED has started making necessary arrangements to bring the imported pulses in the country to ease out the present price situation to some extent. It would make required arrangements to bring the imported pulses for distribution in the domestic market, NAFED statment said.
