Munda asks for 1000 MW atomic power plant in Jharkhand
Hazaribagh, Jun 21 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today made a strong appeal to the Centre, demanding a 1000 MW capacity atomic energy plant in the state.
Jharkhand is the country's major uranium rich belt.
Chief Minister Arjun Munda today urged Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee to place the proposal before the Union Cabinet and justified his demand, saying the state produces large quantity of uranium.
Mr Munda hoped villages would be greatly benefitted by the plant.
Mr Munda also asked for setting up of an IT park in the state.
