Monsoon revives in Kerala; heavy rains in many places
Thiruvananthapuram, June 21 (UNI) The Southwest monsoon, which was weak over Kerala for the past week, has revived again with heavy to very heavy rains at many places in the state and Lakshwadeep.
The Local Met office here said Kochi and Kozhikode received 15 and 12 cm rain respectively.
Chertala and Piravam recorded nine cm of rains followed by Kasargode 8 cm, Paravoor and Kollam seven cm, Kodungalur and Varkala six cm and Kottayam five cm.
The four-month monsoon which hit the Kerala coast six days ahead of schedule on May 26, had been scanty since June six.
