Monsoon revives in AP
Hyderabad, June 21 (UNI) Bringing cheers to farmers, who have been keeping their fingers crossed following the weak monsoon current since June eight, Andhra Pradesh saw revival in rainfall activity today with upper air circulation off the coastal Andhra persisting.
Under the influence of the system in the Bay of Bengal, fairly widespread rain, is likely to occur at many places over coastal Andhra region, with isolated heavy falls at one or two places in the region.
Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places over Rayalaseema and Telangana in the next 48 hours, Hyderabad Meterological Office Director Satya Kumar said.
Talking to UNI Mr Kumar said the situation was far better, compared to last week when the monsoon current was weak.
Hyderabadis woke up to monsoonish weather with overcast sky. A spells or two of rain or thundershowers are expected in parts of the twin-cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Narsapur had a very high rainfall of eight cm, followed by Koduru five and Kakinada three.
