Modi initiates 213 tribal children to primary schools
Surat, June 21 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today initiated 213 children, including 182 girls, to the primary educaton, in the tribal taluka of Kaprada in Valsad, the district authorities informed.
According to an official release here, the Valsad district authorities have enrolled 20,281 children in the primary schools this year. Out of this, 9945 are girls.
As part of the Kanya Kelvani project undertaken by the state government, Mr Modi visited Dhabkal, Amba jungle, Dikshal, Vadoli and Huda villages in Kaprada taluk.
He also announced Rs 33 lakh assistance for undertaking the repair work of the schools in the district, the authorities informed.
They also said that the drop-out rate in the district has also come down from 16 per cent to four per cent during the last three years.
