McDonald's selects Manthan for EPM solutions
Bangalore, Jun 21: World's leading food services retailer McDonald's has chosen city-based Manthan Systems' 'Astra' as its Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solution to streamline its mechanism to communicate strategy, allocate resources and monitor progress of execution teams.
Talking to reporters here today, Manthan Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Atul Jalan said the software was selected to be implemented in its Pan-European market, spanning Austria and Germany, with 500 outlets coming under it. Astra provided a platform for strategic thinking which was most suitable for stores departments of world's major retailers.
He said the EPM market was estimated to be in the range of billion worldwide and Indian software companies would have a bigger share in this in the coming years.
''It is a significant achievement for us. We are pleased to announce McDonald as the launch customer for Astra. We are looking at 9,000 more McDonald's outlets which comes under its different markets. With Astra, McDonald's managers can translate corporate objectives to measurable actions, monitor and compare performance against benchmarks and take course corrective actions,'' he added.
In his message, McDonald Senior Executive Sebastian Anjou said Astra had provided a framework for store-centric performance measurement that the company's planning and operations managers could use to assess the effectiveness of their strategies and intiatives.
The roll out was kicked off after a seven-month deployment and user-evaluation process by the McDonald's. It was now being rolled out to their Pan-European markets, Mr Jalan added.
