Large quantities of psychotropic drugs seized in Haryana

Fatehabad, June 21 (UNI) The drug authorities recovered a big cache of tranquilisers and psychotropic drugs from a medical store at Aherwan village in this district today.

The authorities have written to the State Drugs Controller to take suitable action in this regard.

District Drugs Inspector Rajender Herna today said that a shop Sanjay Medicose at Aherwan was raided after complaints that tranquilisers and psychotropic drugs were being sold without prescription. During the raid, the authorities found large quantities of Diazepam, Nitrazepam, Chlordiazepoxide, Atropine Sulphate and Lomotil Tablets besides Dextroproxyphene capsules. The shopkeeper could not produce purchase and sales record of the drug.

Earlier, the drug authorities had recovered a huge quantity of tranquilisers and psychotropic drugs from a chemist shop at Mandi Dabwali in Sirsa district.
