New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Jaggi, son of slain NCP treasurer of Chhattisgarh, Ramavtar Jaggi, today moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of bail of Amit Jogi, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.

Jaggi senior was shot dead in June 2003 during Chhattisgarh Assembly election. Amit Jogi is one of the main conspirators in the murder case and was arrested in Agust 2003.

The petitioner has challenged Chhattisgarh high court order dated May 3 vide which Jogi junior was granted bail. According to the petitioner, free and fair trial in the case is not possible if Amit Jogi roams freely and he has the capacity to influence and intimidate the prosecution witnesses and can tamper with evidence also.

According to the petitioner, high court had rejected his bail application in September 2005 saying that he can tamper with the evidence and influence the witnesses and since then, there is no material change in circumstances and hence the impugned order of the high court is liable to be quashed.

Out of 160 witnesses, 27 have already turned hostile in the case. The CBI has investigated the case.
