Infiltration bid foiled in Poonch, eight militant arrested

Jammu, Jun 21: An infiltration bid by militants was foiled by security forces, who arrested eight militant at Balnoi area under Mendhar police station in Poonch district early this morning.

Defence sources said Army troops detected some movement inside the Line of Control (LoC) and challenged the intruders.

However, the infiltrators opened fire. The encounter was still continuing.

However, Security Forces arrested eight people and seized arms and amunition from them. Detailed reports are still awaited.
