HP Labs, BITS announce PhD fellowship programme
Bangalore, June 21 (UNI) HP Labs India and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani have collaborated for the second consecutive year to offer a PhD fellowship programme designed to further research in the area of information technologies for rapidly growing economies such as India.
HP Labs India would offer comprehensive scholarships to successful candidates to pursue PhD research with the highly respected BITS, Pilani, for up to three years under the collaboration initiated last year.
The fellowship was offered for one year and would be renewed annually based on satisfactory performance in studies and research, for a maximum of three years. The candidates would receive a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000 per month, and HP Labs India would cover all academic-related fees. Additional living expenses of Rs 20,000 would also be included in the scholarship when they were working in Bangalore, according to a HP Labs release here yesterday.
