HC allows nomination withdrawal: case posted to tomorrow

Hyderabad, June 21 (UNI) A division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court today allowed withdrawal of nominations for the Local Bodies Election and posted for tomorrow the appeal of the State Election Commission(SEC) and the State Government for the suspension of the Order of Single Judge quashing the poll notification.

The division bench with Chief Justice G S Singhvi and Justice G V Sitapathi Rao, which was specially constituted, heard arguments of Advocate General C V Mohan Reddy and senior advocate S Ramchander Rao, on behalf of the petitioner.

When the bench insisted on the Judgement copy of the verdict of the Single Judge Justice PS Narayana, which quashed the poll notification, Mr Rao said it consists of 140 pages and he was not having the copy.

The Advocate General said that with the judgement the election process would be disturbed.
