Gold Antiques recoverd from Forest belongs Vijayanagar Empire
Palakkad, Jun 21 (UNI) The Archeological experts, which examined the Antique, Gold Coins and Chain, which recovered from a person on saturday last, found that it was used in Vijayanagar and Gosaliya Empire during 16 and 18 centuries.
The experts led by Public Relation Officer Hemanthakumar, Antique Coin research expert K Sarojini Amma and Senior Archeologist K Vijayan said that the Coins, found in five types had inscribed lion on one side and pig the other side, used for trade purpose about 400 years ago and it belongs to the "Rasi" department.
Its age and value would be determined at Thiruvananthapuram after a detailed study, they said.
The Police had seized 43 Antique Gold Coins and a Chain from a person who got them from a Forest in Malampzha while cuttting Bamboo.
