Five arrested for kidnapping in AP

Visakhapatnam, June 21 (UNI) The city police arrested five people on the charge of kidnapping B Venkata Ramanamurthy of Pakkivalasa village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh today.

Police said the five persons abducted Ramanamurthy for failing to repay the loan of Rs 60,000, which he had taken from them.

On a tip-off, a highway patrol party intercepted the vehicle in which Ramanamurthy was being taken and rescued him.

The arrested were K Chandrasekhar, B Appanna, G Sudhakar Reddy, Chenna Reddy and N Ravi, police said.
