Eight killed, 33 injured in accident on Jammu-Srinagar highway

Jammu, June 21 (UNI) At least eight people were killed and 33 others injured when a minibus, carrying more than 40 passengers, collided with a truck on the Jammu-Srinagar highway this evening.

Police sources said the incident took place two km away from Batote in Jammu region at 1643 hrs. Seven passengers died on the spot. The rescue operation has been started.

All the injured, some critically, have been admitted to Goverment Medical College Hospital (GMCH) Jammu.
