Editors' Conference in Srinagar from tomorrow

Srinagar, June 21 (UNI) A three-day Editors' Conference on social infrastructure issues with special focus on Jammu and Kashmir would be held here from tomorrow, an official spokesman said today.

This will be the first time when the conference would be held in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Conference, organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir government, would jointly be inaugurated by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Rural Development Minister Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, he added.

The spokesman said Union Food Processing Minister Subodh Kant, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baigh, Union Home Secretary V K Duggal, PIB Director General Deepak Sandhu, Railway Board Chairman J P Batra, Senior Advisor in Ministry of Science and Technology, Laxman Prasad and Joint Secretary in Ministry of Tourism Amtiabh Kant would address the conference to be attended by more than 150 journalists from all over India.

He said the Conference will enable editors and journalists to interact with policy formulators and get detailed back-grounders on the government's policies and programmes for Jammu and Kashmir.

It will also provide an opportunity to the government go get feed-back from the delegates, the spokesman added.
