JD(S) General Secretary Mahima Patel resigns

Bangalore, June 21 : Janata Dal (Secular) Karnataka Unit General Secretary Mahima Patel, today tendered his resignation in protest against non-inclusion in the cabinet expansion effected today.

Mr Patel submitted his resignation to the party president H D Deve Gowda immediately after swearing in of eight Cabinet Ministers earlier in the day.

According to party sources, Mr Gowda, after receiving the letter, invited Mr Patel, son of late Chief Minister J H Patel and assured him of considering his name during the next expansion.
