Kolkata, Jun 21 (UNI) Adding further twist to the present imbroglio, Cricket Association of Bengal(CAB) president Jagmohan Dalmiya has decided to convene an emergency meeting of CAB affiliated members to discuss the views of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee that he should not contest the CAB elections in July.

Issuing a statement in this regard immediately after meeting state Sports Minister Subhas Chakraborty tonight when the latter had informed him about the Chief Minister's views, Dalmiya said he had decided to convene an emergency meeting of CAB affiliated members where the Chief Minister's views would be placed.

However, the date and time of the meeting would be announced by tomorrow, Dalmiya informed.

Incidentally, the CAB elections this year had assumed a new proportion following the Chief Minister's open suggestions to Dalmiya not to contest for the post of the Association president this year after remaining in the saddle for about two decades now and thereby help make a clean sweep for city Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee for the same post.

The issue had complicated further when former Chief Minister Jyoti Basu refused to meet Dalmiya when he went to his Salt Lake residence last evening to 'seek his blessings'.
