Counterfeit currencies, fake gold seized
Rajkot, Jun 21 (UNI) Counterfeit notes of different denominations worth Rs 14,09,850 and fake gold worth 2.1 kg were seized from Vastadi Village last evening, police today said.
Superintendent of Police of Surendranagar Sailesh Kumar Katara told UNI over phone that seizure was made on a tip off and six persons were arrested in this connection.
The police party raided one house at Vastadi village and recovered the fake currency from the place, Mr Katara said.
The fake currencies --200 notes of rs 1000 denominations, 2296 of rs 500, 407 0f rs 100 and 423 of rs 50 denominations were recovered from the place. They also seized 2.1 kg of fake gold from the place, Mr Katara said.
Six persons have been arrested in this connection and further interrogations are on, the SP said.
