Chennai, Jun 21 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Information and Publicity Minister and Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) Chairman Parithi Elamvazhuthi today announced the CMDA would come under the e-governance net.

Presiding over a high-level review meeting at the CMDA, he said it was high time to take the CMDA transactions into effective e-governance mode to bring in transparency, efficiency, cost effectiveness and on time delivery.

The proposed e-governance methods would create better interface between the CMDA and the public, who approach it for various purposes like planning permission and lay out approvals.

He said projects relating to IT, social welfare and small entrpreneurs would be given priority. The satellite city, poverty alleviation and outer ring road projects were being reviewed for early completion.

He said the Developmental Control rules would be brought out in Tamil for enabling the public to know the norms of CMDA. There was also a need to translate the technical volumes into Tamil for easy dissemination of information.
