BJP leader shot dead by naxals

Jagdalpur, June 21(UNI) BJP leader Banshidhar Gupta was shot dead allegedly by CPI(Maoist) naxalites in Bastar district today.

Police sources said Orchha block panchayat member Gupta along with village Kotwar Dhan Singh was going to Orchha from his village Dhoudai when naxalites stopped his motor cycle at Taragaon village and shot at him.

Police said Gupta died on the spot. The ultras spared the Kotwar.

BJP MP Baliram Kashyap has condemned the incident.
