Bhatkal records 16 cm rain

Bangalore, June 21 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.

Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.

Bhatkal recorded very heavy rainfall of 16 cm.

Other Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Shirali 5; Joida, Yegati 4 each; Bantwal, Kalasa. Chikmagalur 3 each; Kumta, Sulya, Mulki, Mani, Honavar, Soraba, Bhagamandala 2 each; Sirsi, Mundagod, Puttur, Kundapur, Udupi, Athani, Belgaum AP, Arkalgud, Koppa, N.R.Pura, Sagar, Hassan 1 each.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change is expected over the State.

Local forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy.

Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night.
