Airtel doubles its network in North K'taka
Gulbarga, June 21: India's leading mobile service provider, Airtel, has doubled its network in the backward North Karnataka region during the last year by covering 320 towns.
Announcing this at a press conference here today, Airtel Chief Executive Officer (Karnataka) Deepak Mehrotra said Airtel would cover 165 more towns in the region by March next.
Airtel, with a customer base of over 2.4 million in Karnataka circle, had deployed over 1,800 cell sites across the state. It had launched innovative mobile conferencing facility for the first time in the country in Karnataka, he added.
