22 injured in road accident

Jammu, June 21 (UNI) At least 22 people were injured, five of them seriously, when a minibus fell off the road near Sungri in Rajouri district this morning.

Official sources said the rescue operation were immediately launched by the 51 Rashtriya Rifles and rescued all the injured people. The minibus, which was going from Chasana to Mahore, was returning to Mahore when it fell almost 10 meters down the road near Sungri at about 0840 hours due to a problem in the steering system of the vehicle.

A team of the local Rashtriya Rifles unit, led by Major P Baskaran, immediately rushed for help of the accident victims.

The Army shifted the seriously injured to Chasana and after providing first aid, they were shifted to Government Hospital, Rajouri.
