New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Thirteen lady staffers, including seven doctors, of the Apollo Hospital were today questioned by the police team probing into the alleged fudging of documents in the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case.

However, the team did not question Raji Chandru -- the high profile close aide of Chairman of the Apollo chain of hospitals Pratap Reddy -- one of the most crucial links in the case.

''Questioning of only 13 of the list of 20 could be completed today due to time constraint. We will question Raji Chandru tomorrow as it is expoected that her interrogation might take more time,'' said a senior official of the investigation team.

''Another crucial person is pathologist Dr Abha Gupta, who prepared all the reports in the case, whom we have to question to unravel the mystery of the entire episode,'' he said.

However, examination of records of the hospital revealed that they were not being maintained properly. ''It could be intentional as well as due to poor administration which raised serious doubts.'' Those questioned in the day were not 'big players' as far as the case is concerned. They did not play a major role in the incident.

Tomorrow would be important, he added.

Meanwhile, lawyer for the hospital Lalit Bhasin said police was leaking 'selective' informaion to the media for its image building.
