Vadodara, June 20 (UNI) City police have arrested Best Bakery case prime witness Zaheera Sheikh's sister-in-law Heena for allegedly keeping some stolen steel angles in the bakery premises where she is currently living with her two-year-old daughter.

Acting on a tip-off, Panigate police raided the double-storeyed bakery on the outskirts of the city yesterday evening and picked up Heena, a widow, along with her child for questioning, after 20 pieces of stolen angles worth Rs 15,000 were recovered from there.

Late in the night, police arrested her under section 41(1)(d) of CrPC for possessing the stolen construction material from - Bunty, a resident of Bharat Wadi slum, Panigate police inspector Y A Bhatia told UNI today.

During interrogation, Heena, the second wife of Zaheera's deceased brother Nafitullah, first claimed that she had purchased the said material from Bunty for Rs 6,000, but later confessed that the goods were gifted to her by Bunty, who wanted to stay in the bakery premises on rent, Mr Bhatia said.

Heena would be produced in a local court today for remand, he said adding that police had launched a manhunt to nab Bunty.

Like Yashmin Bano, the estranged wife of Nafitullah, local Hindu girl Heena alias Kailash Vasava, who converted to Islam after her marriage with Zaheera's brother, is also said to have had severed all her relations with her in-laws, now living in Mumbai.

Heena alleged that her in-laws, who kept her in dark about the death of her ailing husband in Mumbai in March this year, had forcibly kept her four-year-old son Sameer with them despite her repeated pleadings.
