Virtusa Co-Founder wins Award in Sri Lanka
Hyderabad, Jun 20 (UNI) ''Virtusa Corporation'', software development and IT services provider, today announced that its co-founder Tushara Banekeratne has been named ''Woman Entrepreneur of the year 2005'' by the Women's Chamber of Commerce (WCIC) in her native country Sri Lanka.
She also won the gold medal in the Large Business category, a company release said here today.
The WCIC was set up in 1985 to promote the special interests of women entrepreneurs with the objective of incorporating them into the mainstream of business activity in Sri Lanka. WCIC awards are presented once every two years to women entrepreneurs in the large, medium, small and micro business categories. This year's awards have been expanded from five to eight categories to offer opportunities to a wider range of women entrepreneurs and include the Best Innovative Enterprise, Best Business Start-up and Tsunami Turnaround Woman Entrepreneur, the release added.
