UP to place order worth Rs 2,448 cr with BHEL

Lucknow, June 20 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government will soon place order worth Rs 2,448 crore with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for supplying equipment for four 250 MW thermal power units in Paricha and Harduaganj power stations.

Paricha and Harduaganj thermal power units -- as part of their expansion programme -- are setting up two 250 MW units each.

A decision to this effect was taken at the state cabinet meeting here chaired by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chief Secretary Naveen Chandra Bajpayee told reporters.

The procurement order list would comprise boiler, turbine etc. It would take about 39 months time for the supply of these equipment.

Presently, Paricha thermal power station in UP has capacity of 220 MW, while Harduaganj has the capacity of 210 MW. After the expansion, the capacity of both these plants would be raised to 720 MW and 710 MW respectively.
