Unemployed man attempts suicide outside CM's chamber

Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) An unemployed man from Mumbai attempted suicide outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's chambers at Mantralaya here this afternoon.

Mantralaya security officials said 35-year-old Kishore, a resident of Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar slums in Ghatkopar, slit his wrist while standing in a queue to meet the Chief Minister to seek a government job.

The incident occurred at around 1445 hrs. The security officials put Bhonde in a police vehicle and rushed him to the St George Hospital for treatment. Mr Deshmukh, who was present in his chamber, immediately summoned his staff.
