Two CPI(M) activists killed in Maoist attack

Krishnagar, Bengal, June 20 (UNI) Two CPI (M) workers were killed and as many injured when Maoists attacked them at Chandpur in Ashannagar in Nadia district last night.

Superintendent of Police R Rajshekharan here said the deceased - Swapan Sardar and Uttam Sardar - were killed when the Maoists swooped down on their houses and started firing.

While two were killed on the spot, as many sustained serious injuries, he added.

The killing was in retaliation to the fight for the occupation over a pond.
