Sports academy in every state, union territory

Shimla, June 20 (UNI) Union Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry has decided to open a sports academy in every state and union territory, which will be funded by a sponsor, Centre and state government in the ratio of 51:25;24, an official spokesman said.

The capital and non-recurring expenditure on the setting up of the academy would be to the tune of 8.30 crore and would be shared between the sponsor, centre and state governments.

The spokesman said the respective state governments would have to provide sufficient land for the construction of the academy.
