Six masked dacoits decamp with booty worth Rs 1 lakh

Panaji, June 20 (UNI) Six masked dacoits struck the house of a doctor and decamped with booty including jewels worth Rs one lakh at knife point in the wee hours today at Gudi-Ponda in South Goa.

The criminals barged into the house and threatened the inmates including Dr K R Kamat with knives and revolvers and fled away with the booty.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (crime) Ujjwal Mishra told UNI that the police suspect a criminal gang from neighbouring Karnataka.

The gangsters however did not hurt the inmates.

A dog squad was pressed into service to trace the culprits.
