Seven arrested with wildlife parts
New Delhi, Jun 20 (UNI) Seven persons were arrested here today under the Wildlife Act with body parts of tiger, owl, porcupine, deer and tortoise, police said.
The seven, five of them women, were arrested during a raid at their hideout near Jama Masjid, a police spokesman said. The raid followed a tip off.
Those arrested were identified as Mohammad Salim, Ganesh Dutt, Rampyari, Bundi, Saranga, Naina and Kwanti.
Nearly 50 porcupine quills, 93 musk deer pods, one Barasingha antler, 24 tiger claws, 15 claws of owl, a dead owl and four tortoise shells were among the articles recovered from them, he added.
