Sensex opens on a strong note

Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) BSE Sensex today opened in the red by 39.51 points at 9958.33 on global weakness, compared to the previous close of 9997.84.

Similarly S&P CNX Nifty too declined and is currently trading down by 57.25 points at 2859.70.

At 1110 hrs BSE Sensex is trading at 9842.49 down by 155 points on rising fears over hike in US interest rates and also due to global weakness.

The market has recovered little bit after touching the low of 9745.17.

IT, metal, auto, cement and banking shares have lost on the Sensex.

All the scrips on the Sensex are in red except Ranbaxy Labs, which is up by 2.38 per cent and Cipla which is trading flat unchanged from the previous rate.

Sectoral indices on the NSE are also trading low with CNX IT down by 6.83 per cent at 3640 points and CNX 500 down by 1.65 per cent at 2418 points.
