Satyam Foundation to launch a training centre

Hyderabad, June 20 (UNI) Satyam Foundation, the Corporate social responsibility arm of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, along with Lepra Society has announced the launch of a training and production Centre for people living with HIV/AIDS, especially widows and young women.

The programme plans to cover about 300 people over a period of one year and the first session will start from today. All candidates who have written their 10th exam can join the training programme, a company release said yesterday.

''The purpose of this programme is to provide opportunity for people living with HIV/AIDS to work and get an additional income.

This would also help for their medical, nutritional support, to extend their life span,'' the release said.

This is first of its kind in the country that such an initiative is being taken up. Satyam Foundation would also dedicate a team, who would identify US and UK companies, who are outsourcing their tasks to India and make an attempt to get part of those projects outsourced to these trained people,'' the release said.

AC Nielsen Org-Marg and Glaxo Smithkline(GSK) were considering to outsource their Corporate projects to the trainees of the programme on a sustainable basis, the release added.
