Rs 2 crore grant by MCD for HinduRao, Kasturba hospitals

New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today announced a Rs 2 crore grant for renovation work at the Hindu Rao and Kasturba hospitals in the capital.

During a visit to the Hindu Rao hospitals, chairman of the MCD Standing Committee Jai Kishen Sharma announced a grant of Rs 50 lakh from the special budget provisions and an additional Rs 1 crore from the developmental fund for councillors for the renovation work at the hospital.

Accompanying Mr Sharma during the visit were leader of MCD house Jitender Kochar, former Standing Committee chairman Mukesh Goyal, member of the standing committee Satbir Sharma, additional commissioner (health) K D Acolia and top officials of various departments.

Talking to reporters, Mr Kochar said the Rs 1.5 crore grant was being given to help provide better facilities and a proper environment to the patients.

During a visit to the Kasturba hospital in Old Delhi, Mr Kochar announced a special grant of Rs 50 lakh to help strengthen services there.
